A Nokia 6101 Phone Deal That’s Not Refurbished

It’s that time again! Just when you thought life was getting boring, here’s another great cell phone deal courtesy of Ritz Camera, Inc.

Nokia 6101 Phone
The T-mobile Prepaid Nokia 6101 pack includes the Nokia 6101 phone (new), and a time card with ($15? I think) of prepaid minutes. Normally this retails at $149.99, but if you purchase another time card (the cheapest one is $10), you can get it for $99.99 – $50 rebate = $49.99. Score!

There’s a lot of Ritz Camera stores, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding one. However, each store seems to stock only 1-2 so get ‘em before they’re gone!

The Nokia 6101 is an 850/1800/1900 triband phone with a VGA camera and external display. For this price, that’s pretty impressive considering the Nokia 6061 phone deal is $49.99 for a flip phone WITHOUT a camera.
With that said, it’s another Nokia Series 40 device with the same features: FM radio, loudspeaker, mp3 ringtones, java games, etc. It’s an entry level model but getting one for this price is a steal without a contract.

VM setup for ADK 4.5 migration

Yesterday marks the first day on The Nokia Phone Blog where I actually didn’t get any chance to update. So today it looks like I’ll have to do double duty.
First we’ll take a look at the Nokia N71 phone, another triband/3G Nseries flip-phone.

It’s got your standard Symbian OS interface, and standard Symbian features – video, mp3, games, applications, etc. The displays aren’t exactly something to write home about: the main screen is a 262k color screen at a resolution of 320×420 pixels. Actually, the internal screen is quite large, both pixel-wise and overall size-wise: it’s 2.4 inches. Compare that to the Nokia N90 which has a 2.1 inch, 352×416 pixel display.
The “cool” feature on the Nokia N71 is the addition of a second VGA camera to complement the external 2 megapixel camera on the outside. Useful for videoconferencing or taking lousy quality pictures of yourself.
Other than that, there’s no WLAN/wi-fi on this phone – it’s one of the more “budget” phones on the Nseries line.
Retail price of the Nokia N71 phone: 400 euros / $492 USD
